Mental health professionals and researchers sometimes use terms that are particular to their field of work. On these pages, we've tried to explain some of the terms and types of organisations that you might come across, or hear mentioned.

These pages were last updated 18 December 2012 (NICE's new name corrected 3 April 2013).
There are currently no plans to update the pages because existing funding for mentalhealthcare.org.uk ceases at the end of April 2013.
We will, however, continue to regularly check that all links are working.
